Spectrum's Mission Statement

Established in 1998, Spectrum has worked hard to earn a reputation for delivering quality employment outcomes in a timely manner. Our core function is as a recruitment agency and we have chosen to differentiate our service from our competitors by creating a process and a level of service delivery that consistently and efficiently builds powerful networks between organisations and employment seekers, whether they are conducting a job search for temporary, graduate, government, career or contract positions.

At Spectrum, we recognise that by taking a holistic approach to recruitment, which places emphasis on creating focused, committed and effective solutions and reflects our passion for what we do, our clients will reap the rewards in terms of the quality of staff employed and the retention rates of their personnel.

Holistic Approach to Recruitment

As a business, there is no escaping the bottom line; however, we've found we can achieve the best results by diverting our focus to the process rather than the outcome. We recognise that if we achieve consistently high performance in recruitment and job placements, our business can continue to grow. Hence, our emphasis is on achieving the highest quality matches between the personal attributes of the applicants and the culture, values and environment of each employer organisation through our optimal recruitment delivery processes.

Our greatest service challenge is to manufacture the best possible outcome for each party in the recruitment process: the candidate, the client and Spectrum. We have found this can be best achieved by focusing firstly on alignment between the cultures of both our organisation and that of our client. We sometimes encounter clients focused on what we call production-line recruitment; churning through "bums on seats" and job listings. This is ill-advised, impersonal and realises poor outcomes for all the parties involved. In our experience, the most effective results are achieved working with organisations that understand the bottom-line value of selection, development and retention of personnel on their business.

How can we be motivated, excited and passionate about our role as a recruitment agency if we know that we are placing people in companies who will not respect, value and encourage their contribution as employees internally and as members of the community externally? We are interested in developing relationships with clients that place a great deal of importance on, and take great care of, their personnel. We firmly believe that this is an essential element in creating and developing strong companies that people can get excited about being involved with.

At Spectrum, we place great importance on selection, development and retention of staff; however, we are proud to have earned a reputation as the job selection specialists.

We work hard to ensure our continued success at putting the 'right people on the right seats' within our clients' organisations via our Quality Accredited systems and processes alongside the agency specialised human-resource skills of our recruitment practitioners.

In terms of development and retention, we work side-by-side with our clients and candidates, providing them with educational and development opportunities through our Seminar Series and Aligned Partners.
